Become a Crisis Line Volunteer

Crisis Line volunteers play a very important role in the services KSAC provide to survivors of sexual violence in the City of Kenora and surrounding First Nations communities. We offer extensive training that will educate and prepare you for working with our agency 24/7 Crisis Line. KSAC provides monthly volunteer meetings where volunteers have an opportunity to expand their learning and connect with one another. For more information, please contact the crisis line coordinator at 807-468-7958.

Become a Board Member

Our Board Members consist of ten fabulous and dynamic women. They all come from different backgrounds and they all have a different set of skills, but one thing they have in common is they all care deeply about the services and programs our Centre offers to survivors of sexual violence. As a Board member you can participate in various committees; Governance, Finance, Personnel, Hiring and Policy. The terms for our Board members are one, two and three years. New Board Members receive training on their roles and responsibilities and a Board orientation manual when they join KSAC. If you would like to become a board member or would like more information, please contact the Centre Director at 807-468-7958.

Volunteer in any of our annual events

During the year, we organize various events to create awareness about the impact of sexual and domestic violence in our community. Some of these events include International Women’s Day, May is Sexual Awareness Month, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, Take Back the Night, Sisters in Spirit, December 6 Vigil and others. If you would like to participate in the planning of any of these events, please contact our office at 807-468-7958.
